Angela O'Hair
Angela’s physical journey began after the birth of her first child in 2008 inside of her home where she accumulated a little collection of videos and equipment and got very used to eventually having two small children crawling all over her every time she worked out until she finally joined a gym about 5 years later. Working out was always one of her favorite things to do and some of her main focuses were only attending classes that were very challenging and trying to do back to back classes as often as possible. Eventually she was told told by an instructor that she needed to become a fitness instructor herself if she wanted to keep challenging herself further, so she got her first certification in 2017 and began teaching a few different formats. She never had any interest in yoga because she assumed it would not be hard enough. She eventually tried her first hot yoga class in 2019 and was completely shocked by its actual level of intensity. A few years later she found Roots and loved how consistently hot and challenging it always was and the fact that 80 minute classes were offered several days a week. Swearing by hot yoga as the cure anytime she hurt something or felt sick, she was in love with it and told anyone who would listen that they also needed it as a form of physical healing. She eventually realized that practicing hot yoga was the only time her brain actually ever got quiet, it had become one of her own forms of self care to help quiet her mind while filling up her own cup so that she was better equipped each week to pour into the elderly family members she cared for as well as her children and others in her life. As time passed she found herself with so many questions about yoga that she wanted answers to, which is ultimately why she signed up for YTT with Nikki. She learned that she had no idea how vast and endless yoga actually is and it was a beautiful time of healing in her life. She is beyond grateful and excited to now be a part of the Roots community and to never stop learning and growing and practicing alongside everyone else on their journeys as well!
